The Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform (MAJR) is a nonpartisan, all-volunteer organization of more than 1500 Marylanders who advocate for evidence-based legislative and policy changes in Maryland’s correctional practices to support effective alternatives to incarceration, address inequities, and allow citizens returning from prison to lead productive lives.

The LWV Maryland The LWV (League of Women Voters) Maryland is part of the LWV US, a nonpartisan group that neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties at any level of government. The LWV works on issues of vital concern to its members and the public, including voting rights, making sure voters have the information they need for elections, health care reform, protecting the environment and immigration issues.

We are seeking to create an amendment in the Declaration of Rights of Maryland’s state constitution that protects our right to a healthy environment. Along the way, we work with partners to support policies, bills, and initiatives that flesh out the three goals this amendment is designed to achieve: environmental health; public health; environmental justice.
